Founded by James Clifton

A lifelong print professional with decades of experience in printing, garment production and customisation. James also heads up the successful workwear brand Smarter Impressions, alongside his business partners Ryan, Tom, Laura and Lisa, delivering high-quality branded clothing solutions across multiple industries.

Over the years, James was frequently asked by players and teams to personalise supplied dart shirts with names and sponsors, or to create fully bespoke individual and team designs. Recognising a growing demand within the darting community, James identified an opportunity to create a dedicated, streamlined online platform focused entirely on bespoke dart shirts leveraging his extensive print industry expertise to make the process simple, efficient and accessible.

Where darts meets decades of print expertise

Alongside his professional background, James has been playing darts for 18 years, as a Super League and County player for Wiltshire & Berkshire. Through this, he built a strong friendship with former PDC World Number 1 and World Champion Luke Humphries MBE.

Their relationship was forged through years of competing together, attending Q-School, and playing in national competitions building trust, respect and a shared understanding of the sport at the highest level.

When James shared his vision for Smarter Dart Shirts, Luke immediately recognised the value of the concept and the passion behind it. With Luke coming on board as Brand Ambassador, the business gained the endorsement of one of the sport’s elite competitors.

Supported by the extensive production capabilities of the Print Often Group, Smarter Dart Shirts was born.
